Choiseul Police Nabs Well-Known Burglar


On Wednesday 26th September 2012 about 8:00am, Officers attached to the Choiseul police Station responded to an incident which occurred at La Fargue Choiseul.

Reports indicate Builders Choice store was burglarized and several electrical tools were stolen amounting to Sixteen thousand one hundred twelve dollars and thirty cents ($16,112.32.) As a result the officers launched an investigation.

During the conduct of the investigation officers arrested 27 year old Scott Octave of Caffiere, Choiseul and recovered goods totaling Twenty Five Thousand Dollars $25,000.00) in value.

In addition to this investigation, officers based on previous reports suspects he committed several burglaries within the region of Laborie, Choiseul and Soufriere.

He was subsequently charged on eight counts of burglary. Five of these burglaries took place at Builders Choice store in Choiseul, one at Nicholas Gas Station located in La Fargue, one at the Belle Vue Farmers Co Operative located in Myers Bridge, Soufriere, the Piaye’s branch of the Saltibus Co Operative Credit Union and the R and D’s Gas station at Piaye. .

He was taken to court on Tuesday 2nd October 2012 to answer to the said charges.

He was bailed in the sum of twelve thousand dollar cast or suitable surety. He was also bailed on conditions as follows;

1)    Report to the Choiseul Police station every Monday.

2)    Do not apply for travelling for travelling documents without the court’s permission.

The said individual is still in police custody as he is unable to meet his bail conditions.

He is scheduled to return to court on the 10th October 2012.
