15-year-old Shot in The Leg

 On Thursday 21st June 2012, about 2: 10 pm, Officers attached to the Richfond Police Station responded to a shooting incident which occurred at New Field Dennery.

Upon arrival at the scene, information received revealed 13 year old Claudine James of Richfond; Dennery was walking along the New Field road when 15 year old Davidson Eugene of Micoud attempted to rob her of her La Coste school bag.

It is also reported that at the time of this alleged incident two off duty police officers were present and attempted to apprehend Davidson Eugene who pulled out a knife and gesticulated violently in defiance. One of the officers who were armed discharged a round hitting him in the leg.

He was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Davidson Eugene is currently in police custody and is expected to be charged for the following offences:

– Attempted robbery

– Assault with a dangerous weapon

– Resisting arrest

An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Post Mortem on Sherwin Poleon

On Wednesday 20th June 2012, about 10:30 pm, a post mortem was conducted on the body of 15 year old Sherwin Poleon of Anse Ger, Desruisseaux.

The post mortem examination revealed that Sherwin Poleon died as a result of a brain injury.

Sherwin Poleon died at St. Jude’s Hospital on Monday 18th June 2012, after he was taken off a life support machine.

An investigation surrounding the death of Sherwin Poleon is continuing.
