Wanted Man Sought, Jewellery Store Robbery/Assault and a Possible Minor Firebug


Latest police reports include a committment warrant, a jewellery store attack and a possible minor firebug.

Commitment Warrant

A Commitment Warranted dated 9th March 2012 is issued for Francis Claxton of Aux Leon, Dennery.

On the 17th of January 2012, Francis Claxton was convicted before the Dennery Court for intentional causing harm to Valentina Pierre, at Despin, Dennery. He was sentenced to a two (2) year term of imprisonment with hard labour. The sentence is to run concurrently with any prior sentencing.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of this individual is asked to contact the Richfond Police Station at 456 3690 or the nearest Police Station.

Jewellery store owner attacked and robbed

On Monday 11th June 2012, about 7:05 am, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to the scene of a robbery which occurred on Maryann Street.

Reports indicate that Andrew Ettiene of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet was in the process of opening his business place when he was attacked by two masked men one of whom welded a cutlass.

He was robbed of a black leather bag containing jewellery amounting to $90, 000.00, his passport and other documents.

During the incident, Andrew Ettiene sustained a cutlass wound to his left hand. He was taken to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

No one has been arrested in relation to this incident but the Royal St.Lucia Police Force is actively pursuing leads and suspects.

Minor sent to Wellness Center for Evaluation

On Monday 11th June 2012, a minor from Morne Ciseaux, Jacmel was taken before the court on a charge of arson.

The incident took place on Friday 1st June 2012, about 11:00pm. The 10 by 12 plywood structure belonging to Justina Joseph of Cas-en-Bas was completely destroyed by fire.

She was taken to the First District Court where she was ordered to be taken to the Wellness Center for a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she is of sound mind to face trial.

The matter was adjourned to Monday 25th June 2012.
