One Man Dies After Going Swimming with Friends

On Sunday 3rd June 2012 about 3:20 pm Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to an incident with occurred at the Quarry at Union.

Information received indicates that Ian Charlie of Beanfield, Vieux Fort along with some friends went swimming in a pool of water but didn’t resurface immediately.

A search for the body continued with the assistance of the Marines Police on Monday 4th June 2012. The body was recovered later the same day and was pronounced dead by a Medical Examiner.  A post mortem is scheduled at a later date to determine the cause of death.

The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Ian Charlie.
